Hugh's Ten Questions Answered

Hugh Hewitt's list of questions to MSM types is one that political bloggers could well answer:

For whom did the reporter vote for president in the past five elections? Do they attend church regularly and if so, in which denomination? Do they believe that the late-term abortion procedure known as partial birth abortion should be legal? Do they believe same sex marriage ought to be legal? Did they support the invasion of Iraq? Do they support drilling in ANWR?

If I know the answers to those ten questions, I can quickly decide what degree of trust with which to approach a reporter's reporting. Even "low trust" reporters can earn trust, of course, but degrees of suspicion are a fact of life. Only MSM pretends otherwise, and bloggers have exposed that pretension as the fiction it really is, even if most of MSM want to continue the charade.

Here are my answers:

  • 2004: Bush
  • 2000: Libertarian
  • 1996: Dole
  • 1992: Libertarian
  • 1988: Bush Sr.
• No.
• No, not when an 8-ounce fetus can be viable, although I think the states should control it, not the feds.
• I don't think the states should license such marriages, but if religious institutions want to perform these ceremonies, that's their business.
• Yes, I thought it was morally justified and a strategic gamble worth taking.
• Yes, with suitable environmental controls.

Some of these merit longer discussions, but not now.

I'd probably pick a different 10 questions, but I'm not a big macher like Bro. Hugh, and his list is pretty useful for figuring out where people are coming from.
