Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, whom we've been subsidizing for years, must be shaken tonight. Pres. Bush specifically said it's time for Egypt to democratize.
It is, although the initial beneficiaries might be the Muslim Brotherhood.
He also warned Syria to behave, offered support to Iranian oppositionists, and called for democratization in Saudia Arabia.
He actually meant what he said in the Inaugural -- he's for freedom and democracy, even in the Middle East. I hope he's careful about how he uses power to achieve these goals.
How will the Democrats react to this? Especially those who buy the consipiracy theory that the Bushes and the Saudi royal family have been in cahoots for years.
