Those (including me) who have been put off by the President's manner and rather unintellectual style, must admit that he was eloquent, composed, and appeared knowledgeable during the speech. Occasional flashes of the smirk, but controlled and inoffensive.
You can like the guy or hate his patrician Texan guts, but no more dismissing him as a dummy. He's grown in the office, knows what he wants, and is going after it with a good deal of determination.
Gosh, we're going to have a debate over policy, not the President's personality or alleged intellectual limitations.
